The Association of Latvian Castles, Palaces and Manors
The challenge was not only to meet current requirements, but also those that would be in future projects, in whatever forms they would come.

The Association of Latvian Castles, Palaces and Manors (LPMA) is a professional association established in 2000 in Cirstu Manor and currently has 105 members.The main goals of the Association are to promote the preservation of Latvian cultural heritage; exploration, maintaining, reconstruction, adjusting for various uses, use and development of the unique and valuable cultural heritage and the environment of castles, palaces and manors; to facilitate development of tourism, culture and creative industries and related infrastructure and services at castles, palaces and manors; to expand public access to castles, palaces and manors; to promote preservation of cultural heritage, to increase the society’s awareness of cultural heritage and involvement in the protection of cultural heritage.
Association’s members may be legal and natural persons whose work, property or interests are related to the preservation of cultural heritage and management of castles, palaces and manors in Latvia.
LPMA is Member of the Tourism Committee of the Council of Economics and Institutional Member of the ICOMOS Latvia.
Presidents of association: Kaspars Sīmanis (2000-2003), Juris Zviedrāns (2003-2008), Jānis Lazdāns (2008-2010), Iveta Sprūdža (2010-2013), Baiba Dūda (2013-2017), Emerita Gruzde (since 2017)
The longest term Manging Director Laima Lupiķe (2000 2010) served the association since the birth of an idea to found it (initially on voluntary basis).
