Baltic Culture Ambience: Development of Culture Tourism Product in Latvia and Lithuania

The main aim of the action is to foster the development of culture tourism in Baltic States by improving the co-operation and experience exchange between Latvia and Lithuania.
As the overall objectives of the Phare Cross Border Co-operation Programme in the Baltic Sea Region, are to help the border regions to overcome specific development problems resulting from their relative isolation in the framework of national economics, to support the establishment and development of co-operative networks within the Baltic Sea Region and to create the linkages between these networks and wider European Union networks.
                  The overall objective of the action is to foster the development of culture tourism in Baltic states by improving the co-operation and experience exchange between Latvia and Lithuania.
                  
                  The specific objective of the action is to increase the number of international and domestic tourists in Latvia and Lithuania:
                  • To provide the development of demand-oriented culture tourism product in Latvia and Lithuania;
                  • To elaborate the joint marketing system for efficient promotion of culture heritage objects (c.h.o.) and culture tourism product of Latvia and Lithuania.
                  
                  The main activities will be:
                  • Research and analysis;
                  • Development of new tourism product;
                  • Pilot project;
                  • Development of culture heritage objects (c.h.o.) marketing system;
                  • Institutional building of organization capacity;
                  • Seminars and fieldtrips for experience gathering and dissemination.
                  
                  The main target groups of the action are:
                  • Association of Latvian Castles, palaces and manors and Association of Lithuanian castles and manors;
                  • Owners and managers of castles and manors in Latvia and Lithuania;
                  • Cesvaine city council and Cesvaine castle;
                  • Tourists;
                  • Local inhabitants of Latvia and Lithuania.
